Online patient communities and how to get the most out of the internet for your patient organisation.
In 2009 EURORDIS launched a new online patient community platform http://www.rarediseasecommunities.org This is an online tool in 5 languages allowing patient groups to form disease specific communities. Visiting the site you will see that there are currently 7 rare disease communities active.
To help you find out more about how this project might benefit you EURORDIS is organising a satellite workshop to give you an opportunity to see it in action and also learn about searching for quality information on the internet as well as case studies of patient organisation's engaging use of internet technology.
When & Where?
This Satellite Workshop takes place from 10.00am - 5pm on Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Amsterdam.

About Rare Disease Communities
Rare Disease Communities is an online social network for patients & families to connect with one and other to support and share vital experiences on aspects of living with a rare disease. Organized into disease specific communities, the platform will also provide links to quality information and involve patient associations in the governance and growth of each community.
