This event follows the 1st Pan-European Workshop on Thalassaemia that took place in Lisbon in 2007, which was very successful and attracted 150 participants from 13 European countries. The Berlin conference is expected to attract more that 250 participants, including doctors, patient leaders from each participating country, and representatives from WHO, EU institutions, European, national NGOs and national health authorities.
